Have had this problem for months. Had given up but will give it another go. Seems there was a magic solution in a previous thread. Anyone can help?
Have added exceptions and such to firewalls and disabled AV and FW completely not to mention uninstalled and re-installed both test and public builds to no avail.
Thanks.

Ok, please send us your log files (namely MinerWars.log, MinerWarsLauncher.exe_STARTER.log and MinerWarsLauncher.exe_UPDATER.log) located in the folder Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\MinerWars to our support mail support@minerwars.com with message describing your situation (so we can pair logs to the right issue).

Thank you.

Same here as I posted under a separate thread. Neither version "Public or Test" will connect even tho I put them as exemptions and no joy, then disabled anti virus plus turned all firewalls off. I was able to play a couple of weeks ago before the new builds most times but nothing now. :(

Hi all,

to those who have this problem, please completely reinstall your game first - delete the folder with the game and download new installer here http://mirror1.minerwars.com/Downloads/MinerWars_01_074_006_Setup.exe (for public) or here http://mirror1.minerwars.com/Downloads/MinerWars_TEST_01_074_006_Setup.exe (for test). Then update it and try again. If this will not help, please write on support@minerwars.com and provide your log file. Thank you very much

I have this same issue. I have uninstalled while at my brothers house and it worked there. Now when I try to play it at my house it goes to this. At my house I have satellite internet which could be the reason but it has worked before. It did just update however. Uninstalling and reinstalling isnt a real viable solution for the fact the that it would take quite a bit of time. (Days more like) If that is the solution to this I will but this is a real hassle for me. I do want to that this is an awesome game and am looking forward to the final product.

So apparently those with older builds of the game do not have the appropriate auto-updater for our newer distribution servers... Since there is no way to point to where the update is with the older build, you are unable to update, perhaps just a swap-out of the auto-updater could prevent having to re-download the entire game again, and re-patch; But chances are if you haven't patched since we changed those servers, you will have a lot of stuff to download.

Perhaps if I provided some of the main files to swap out, It'll update the rest, but I'm not too certain this will work at all... So it's worth a shot if you're low on bandwidth. But this could prove to go horribly wrong, and depend on certain files that may or may not be there...

Edit: I'll see if I can upload the newer auto-updater for you guys to test this out... (I've long since deleted my old builds since they were all screwy).

I am on the public build and it has updated to the newest build. Could it be that its my slow internet connection? I dont think that is the problem because its worked before on my internet. It worked at my brothers house who has much faster internet then i do. Im on public build 1_078_019. It autoupdates just fine. Oh and thanks for the help. And i guess if this isnt fixed ill just have to wait till the final product.

tacoman2000,

Although bandwidth shouldn't really be an issue while updating, this is what I've noticed when I had a horrible connection once. I tried to install the game, the download from the MinerWars.com site was fine... took a while but there were no interruptions. I started the updater and it downloads the new launcher, and restarts as usual. The new launcher would come up and start updating, but with my poor connection at the time, it would constantly fail and time out. I did just keep trying the updater, and eventually, I downloaded all the new files I needed... But I did have issues on a low bandwidth connection updating the game... however running the game on low bandwidth has seemed to be fine... even at 56k speeds.

I also have this problem. I've disabled every firewall and AV, as far as I know and I've reinstalled both the Test and Public builds several times. I'm on a machine that used to run V 49 just fine. I finally got back to Miner Wars on this XP machine and I'm having login/firewall problems.

The funny thing is that it logs in just fine on my Win 7 laptop just fine. Any ideas?

Hi DeadMan,

it seems you haven't set up exact time as computer time for your timezone in windows.
There is few minutes of skew allowed when connecting to server, but it seems this is problematic for many users so we probably increase this skew in future releases.

Thanks, Peter. I saw that in the email. I also had the wrong date in addition to the wrong time, so changing the skew wouldn't have helped me, but I appreciate the quick response and telling me what exactly you saw wrong. It got me working. I'd likely never have figured it out without you guys.

Don't get me wrong. I do think that changing the skew could help eliminate a lot of the problems that people are having.

And get no connection, even with shut down all kind of firewall and virusscanner systems.

Logs send to support.

I don't know if anything has changed server-side, but I'm able to log in using the client now. *crosses fingers* Let's hope it keeps working now, hehe.

Having the same problem.

I've: Port Forwarded, put the laptop in the Router's DMZ, removed NAT filtering, reinstalled with the game linked... and nothing.

At this point, it really seems unlikely that it is something on my PC. Any tips?

So support just helped me out, and the problem was my system clock.

For those struggling with this problem, check your TIME ZONE on your computer and make sure that is correct, along with the correct time. If the time zone is wrong, but you manually updated the time, it still won't connect.
